Two Siblings Killed In Three-Vehicle CrashBy:
BESUT, Sept 11 -- Two siblings were killed when the car they were travelling in, collided with another car and a trailer lorry at the 94km Jalan Kuala Terengganu-Kota Baharu near Kampung Renek here on Thursday.
Nur Izzati Anuar, 17, and Abdul Muizz, 15, from Kampung Cergar Batang, Pasir Akar here, who sustained head injuries, died at the scene in the 10.45pm accident.
Their elder sibling who drove the car, Md Izzat Anuar, 21, lorry driver Jalanu Abd Rahman, 33, and Anuar Mat Zin, 26, who was driving the other car, sustained minor body injuries.
They sought treatment at the Besut Hospital.
Besut police deputy chief DSP Roslan Hasan said the incident was believed to have occurred when the car driven by Md Izzat collided with the other car before skidding and crashing into the lorry from the opposite direction.
The siblings' father, Anuar Abdul Rahman, 44, said prior to the incident, he was driving in another car with his wife and two younger children, followed by Md Izzat, Nur Izzati and Abdul Muizz trailing in their car.
Nur Izzati and Abdul Muizz were laid to rest at the Kampung Darau Muslim cemetery before Friday prayers on Friday.
